Disaster Training 防災訓練

Today's big event was the Disaster training activity at the center.
Everybody partricipated.

In japan Earthquakes are not so uncommon, But what is more dangerous than Earthquakes in Japan is the outbreak of fire. Since the city landscape is so densly packed, it is easy to imagine why it would be a major threat to security if the town in general.

Today's excercise included evacuation, training on the use of escape ladders, the use of the fire hose and hydrant, and the use of the Fire extinguisher ←yours truely participated in this as well as smoke experience.

It was really very informative, i wish the other trainees at the center took it more seriously.
I think this basic information is what helps a person when a real situation arrises.

The thing that really surprised me is how disorientated you become when engulfed by smoke...
It is NOT a nice feeling. It is exactly why you have to rely on all your senses and use your basic instict to make quick decisions that will affect your safety.

I took it very seriously but i couldn't help enjoy the excercise.

The other thing that i found out that it is really nice to see professionals at action.
The salute, the discipline, the coordination.
This is what makes an elite fire fighting team.
