ラマダンイベント！ Ramadan Events!

JAAJで行う一般向け日本語公開講座JJLCは普通ラマダンの間に授業がありませんが、代わりにイベントをします。昨日の第2イベント「夏紹介と怖い話」といったテーマのイベントでした。

最初は日本の夏についてのクイズ、皆さんは意外とよくできました。10問のクイズで全問正解の人はいなかったですが、8問正解、9問正解の人がいて、「日本の夏をよく知っているな～」と私の同僚のK先生が思いました。クイズはダウンロードできるようにしま～す。

その後、夏の定番の「怖い話」を紹介しました、劇で「貉」、紙芝居で「耳なし芳一」を皆さんに紹介しました。怖い話のはずでしたが、どこかホラーより、コミディーになったところがありました！
私を含めてみんなは話を大変楽しく聞きました。

日本文化紹介だけでは、少し一方的という意見がありましたので、学生にヨルダンの夏の文化や風物詩についてプレゼンをしてもらいました。皆さんはよく準備して「夏の遊び方」「ラマダンの子供の歌」などを上手に紹介してくださって、先生として嬉しかったです。

ムードを変えて、浴衣着付けのプレゼンテーションと着付け体験をしました。皆さんは一生懸命浴衣に夢中していました。女の子の学生に大変似合うと日本人の方のコメントがありました。カメラを持っていた私は、皆さんの浴衣を着て、喜びいっぱいを表情を写真でゲットしました！

最後の「かえる歌」は大変よかったです。「がっこ」「げっこ」「ピョン」にあわせて、ジェスチャーするヨルダン人学生をみて、とても新鮮でした。

ちょうど2時間にわたって学生のみんなに日本の文化を紹介して、皆さんは顔に微笑みを描いて満足に家に帰ったと思います。

せっかくのお休みの日を使わせていただいて、今週のイベントに2回も登場し、参加していただいたJICAボランティアの皆さんに本当にお世話になりました。皆さんのおかげで今日のイベントは大盛況でした。

Today was the second Ramadan event at JJLC!
It was quite a nice event that lasted a full 2 hours pe session. This event's theme was "Summer and scary stories"

First we had a short "Summer in Japan" Quizz. K sensei and myself both were impressed with how much our students know about summer in Japan! Out of 10 questions nobody got them all right but we had several students with 9 or 8 correct answers. Very impressive indeed ! I will upload the quiz in Arabic for direct download soon!

Next we had one of summer in Japan's main attractions "scary stories". First a play about "The faceless mujina", a picture story about "Houichi the Ear less". Everybody watched and listened intensely to what should be a scary story, but we all couldn't help get some comedic relief from the performance!

Of course it would be too one sided to just introduce Japanese culture, so we had some of our students introduce some aspects of Summer in Jordan and some of the interesting facets of the month or Ramadan! My self and K sensei were really proud with how good everybody prepared and presented their ideas. As a teacher it give me a nice sense of pride to have such nice and witty students!

Changing the mood a little we introduced summer Yukata and how to put them on! Everybody also tried to put on the Summer Yukata and some of the girls from the class looked very elegant in Yukata! Having the Camera in hand I was able to get some happy faces from our giddy Yukata clad students.

Finally we finished with "The frog song", a cool summer children's song that had every body croaking and jumping! There is something really refreshing about seeing our students interact so whole heatedly with the song!

All in all it was 2 hours of good meaningful fun full of learning new things. I think every body went back home today with a smile on their faces!

I have to really say thanks to the wonderful and dedicated group of JICA volunteers who really made this event a success. I know we took away your precious holiday relax time, but thanks to your efforts we can honestly say that today was a nice and successful event! Thanks guys!
