VERY IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

(第17回日本語弁論大会The 17th Japanese Language speech contest)

Dear Japanese Language students:
We are happy to announce that the 17th Japanese language speech contest will be held on Saturday May 10th, 2014 at the University of Jordan. This is a great chance to work hard to improve your Japanese Language and share many of your thoughts, ideas and experiences with Japanese and Jordanian friends using Nihongo.

There are 2 sections:

1) Presentation section:

Each participant makes a presentation using various multimedia (PPT, Slides, and Pictures) to introduce and aspect of Jordan that he would like to introduce to Japanese friends, so the theme is:

The thing about Jordan and its culture that I would like to introduce to the Japanese people 「日本人にしょうかいしたいヨルダンの○○」

The time allowed for presentation is 4 minutes!

2) Speech section:

Each participant must choose one of the following 3 subjects and give a speech.
Speech themes are,

・This year’s theme: “About me” （私について） 5 minutes

i. My Favorite word or proverb 「わたしの　すきな　ことば・ことわざ」

ii. My Hero or The person I respect the most「わたしの　ヒーロー・そんけいする人」

iii. The happiest / saddest event in my life「じんせいで　いちばん　うれしかったこと・かなしかったこと」

The time allowed for presentation is 5 minutes!

To participate, you must meet the following conditions:

Presentation section: (MAX: 10 participants)
* Must be a current or former Japanese language student. (UJ, JAAJ, other)
* Must have at least finished level 1, but is less than or not yet in Level 3
* Must have not participated in the (Speech section) of the contest before.
* Must not have received primary school education in Japan. (Japanese is not one of the mother tongues)
* Must be committed and energetic.

Speech section: (MAX: 10 participants)
* Must be a current or former Japanese language student. (UJ, JAAJ, other)
* Must have at least finished level 3 (Old or new curriculum)
* Must not have received primary school education in Japan. (Japanese is not one of the mother tongues)
* Must be committed and energetic.

Previous first place winners of past Japanese language contests speech section will not be eligible to participate. But first place winners of presentation section can participate in speech section.

And send it to either Nakayama sensei , Kawai Sensei or to Tymoor Sensei either by Facebook or by normal Email or bring it with you to JAAJ or UJ by Hand.
NO APPLICATION WILL BE ACCEPTED WITH OUT THE ABOVE FORM!!!

PLEASE KNOW THAT IF YOU APPLY AND YOU DO NOT COMMIT TO THE CONTEST, OR QUIT HALF WAY FOR NO APPROPRIATE REASON, YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO PARTICIPATE IN FUTURE CONTESTS! THIS IS A CHALLENGE SO LET'S BE HARD WORKING

The prizes include Japanese language dictionaries and picture books and other cool items.
